The Business of Halloween Candy

Rebecca Harris
/
WESA

If you’re trying to avoid sweets, October may not be the best month to test your resolve. With Halloween right around the corner, contributor Rebecca Harris looks at the business of candy.

Harris explains that chocolate and candy corn are the most popular kinds of candy that people buy for Halloween. And, unsurprisingly, Halloween is a popular time to buy candy. According to Harris, Pittsburghers have several great local candy stores to choose from, including Grandpa Joe’s Candy Shop in the Strip District, Eisenstat Candy Company in Mount Oliver, Rosalind Candy Castle in New Brighton and Edward Marc Chocolatier on the South Side.
