Email Scandal and Close of PA Legislative Session

Talk Radio News Service

We'll talk with Harrisburg Patriot News Editorial Page Editor John Micek about the latest news related to the scandal involving current and former state employees trading raunchy emails. How will it impact the governor's race with three weeks left before election day? And what's on tap in the final days of the legislative session?

Micek notes that Corbett’s two current legislative priorities, liquor privatization and pension reform, seem sure to not pass before the close of the state legislative session.

But Micek suggests that there are still some important bills -- including a prescription drug monitoring bill, one on stream buffers and another dealing with carbon dioxide emissions -- that are worth watching.

Looking forward to the gubernatorial election next month, Misek explains that the email scandal has proven more widespread than initially assumed, and the scandal does seem to be hurting Governor Corbett’s political chances since the emails circulated during his tenure as Attorney General.
