Saccone Might Run In Different District Under Court's Map

The Republican running in March 13's special election for a vacant U.S. House seat in southwestern Pennsylvania says he might seek a full term in a similar district under a new court-ordered congressional map, even though he doesn't live in it.

Rick Saccone told the Washington Observer-Reporter that he's inclined to run in the new 14th District, if the boundaries drawn by the state Supreme Court aren't blocked in federal court challenges filed by Republicans.

Saccone's Elizabeth Township home is in a Pittsburgh-based district with Democratic Rep. Mike Doyle.

Saccone is facing Democrat Conor Lamb in the special election. Lamb's Mount Lebanon house is in a new district with Republican Rep. Keith Rothfus. Lamb hasn't said in which district he'd seek a full term.
