Janis Joplin Remembered

Host Scott Simon remembers singer Janis Joplin, who would have turned 60 this weekend had she not died of a heroin overdose in 1970. Joplin was cremated and her ashes scattered at sea.

Darcelle, the world's oldest working drag queen, has died at 92

Walter Cole, better known as the iconic Darcelle XV, was crowned the world's oldest working drag performer in 2016 by the Guinness Book of World Records. Off stage, Cole championed LGBTQ+ rights.
