A rock 'n' roll renaissance man for more than 20 years, Chuck Prophet brings his band to Mountain Stage to perform tracks from his latest album, Soap & Water.
Prophet fills out his dense pop-rock with his "better half" (Stephanie Finch) on keyboards and background vocals, James Deprato on guitar, Todd Roper on drums and Kevin White on bass. Prophet plays his trusted Telecaster guitar and delivers his lyrics deadpan, accented by a distorted bullhorn microphone. A longtime member of West Coast band Green on Red, Prophet has recently started his own record label, (((belle sound))), to reissue the band's '80s and '90s releases.
The set finishes off with an original composition by Mountain Stage house pianist Bob Thompson called "Blue Ten."
