Peter Case On Mountain Stage

Making his eighth appearance on Mountain Stage, singer-songwriter Peter Case performs songs from his latest album, the Grammy-nominated Let Us Now Praise Sleepy John, and reads an excerpt from his first published memoir, As Far As You Can Get Without a Passport.

In the memoir, Case chronicles a long-ago trip from his home in New York to his adopted home of San Francisco. Upon his arrival, Case founded the early new-wave band The Nerves, before relocating to Los Angeles to form the pop-rock band The Plimsouls. Case went solo in 1986. He also frequently champions blues singers such as Memphis Minnie, "Mississippi" John Hurt and "Sleepy" John Estes, two whom the title of his latest CD refers.
