On Tour With Dan Deacon And His Veggie Oil Van

Musician and performer Dan Deacon makes music with a table-full of gadgets, and if he gets his way, that music will make you dance. He's known for setting that table up right on the dance floor, and for leading elaborate audience participation games and stunts while the gadgets play on.

His 2009 tour, in support of his new album, Bromst, is a little different. He's added 15 musicians to the show, who flesh out his compositions with acoustic instruments.

The whole show travels in a bus fueled with vegetable oil. Fans donate used cooking oil to get Dan and his band to their next gig. He tells host Neal Conan that because the tank is underneath the bus, "it doesn't smell at all."
