A bar-friendly rock band from New York's Catskills, The Felice Brothers — led by two (formerly three) actual Felice brothers — knows its way around a rollicking mix of roots-music sounds. But a funny thing has happened to the group in recent years: It's explored a more subdued side, mixing riotous stompers like "Run Chicken Run" with a string of tense, brooding, accordion-fueled ballads. This year's thoughtful Celebration, Florida isn't as cheerful as its name suggests, but it deepens the Felice Brothers sound. Look for the group to mix grittiness and mournfulness in this set at the 2011 Newport Folk Festival in Newport, R.I.
