The Oklahoma band began as an instrumental group, and draws on its members' collective love of Philip Glass — often using a pair of vibraphones and xylophones to create minimalist patterns — and the music of Ennio Morricone, who scored famous Westerns such asA Fistful of Dollars.
After touring extensively this year with its new record, Tamer Animals — and a fall tour opening for Bon Iver — Other Lives will play a string of West Coast dates in December. The band will tour again in February 2012, opening shows for Radiohead.
