Pittsburgh Officer Charged with Soliciting Sex

A Pittsburgh police officer is charged with offering to provide assistance to several women in exchange for sexual favors.

Officials say 35-year-old police Officer Adam Skweres (squires) was charged Thursday with bribery, coercion, indecent assault and related charges. He is suspended without pay.

Police say in one instance, Skweres allegedly told a woman with a child-related case he could write a favorable letter to Children Youth and Family Services if she had sex with him. They allege that in another case, Skweres said he could influence a woman's boyfriend's case in exchange for sex.

The charges are the result of an investigation by the FBI and Pittsburgh police.

Police say the offenses allegedly occurred between June and December of 2011. They say other women with similar complaints should contact police.
