Let me clarify something: If you think being sent to cover a music festival in Mexico City is a piece of cake, think again. In addition to watching bands play for three days straight, you are running from stage to stage under the scorching sun, making your way through more than 200,000 people just so you can get that perfect picture, and surviving on a steady diet of hot dogs and fries.
OK. Who am I kidding? Vive Latino 2012 was one of the most exciting events I've ever been to. As one of the largest musical events in Latin America, it's a festival that gathers some of the biggest names in Latin rock and alternative music, plus it's a showcase for lesser known bands worth discovering. So whether we were rocking out to iconic groups like Cafe Tacvba or Molotov, or enjoying the sounds of a band we'd never heard before, such as the politically poignant punk rockers Puerquerama, this was one of the best musical experiences we've had.
This week on our show we revisit our favorite artists from the festival and discuss our love affair with the amazing Mexico City. If you were there, we hope to hear from you. Which bands did you love watching?

Vive Latino 2012: Nuestras Bandas Favoritas Del Festival
Quiero aclarar algo: Si alguno de ustedes piensa que ir a Ciudad de México comoreportera para cubrir un festival de música es un trabajo facil, se equivocan. Además de ver bandas tocar durante varios días , correr de escenario en escenario bajo el ardiente sol, entre masas de mas de 200,000 personas y sobrevivir a dieta de hot dogs y papas fritas.
Bueno...en realidad no es tan así. El Festival Vive Latino 2012 fue uno de los eventos mas emocionantes al que hemos ido como periodistas de música. Es uno de los festivales más importantes de música en Latinoamerica, y además de reunir a los grandes del rock y la música alternativa latina, es una excelente manera de descubrir nuevas bandas. Fue tan bueno poder ver en vivo a bandas icónicas como Molotov o Café Tacvba como descubrir actos que no conocía, tales como Puerquerama, una banda de punk tan interesante en sus críticas de la política Mexicana como divertida en su actuación.
