PA Libraries to Join in Effort to Get All Voters IDs

The Pennsylvania Department of State and The Pennsylvania Library Association are joining forces. All 632 libraries across the commonwealth will provide information for patrons about the new voter ID law that will require all voters to provide a photo ID issued from PENNDOT, in an effort to curb voter fraud.

The law allows for people who don't have a photo ID to get one for free from The Department of Motor Vehicles.

If, in November, a voter shows up to vote without the proper ID, they'll be able to vote using a provisional ballot.

"After the election the voter can fax a copy of the photo ID to voter services, they can scan it and email it to the voter services center and have their vote counted," said Carol Aichele, Secretary of the Commonwealth, Department of State.
