Pink Martini On Mountain Stage

Pink Martini appears on Mountain Stage, recorded live on the campus of Ohio University in Athens. Formed in Portland, Ore., by pianist Thomas Lauderdale, Pink Martini is a self-described "little orchestra" with many international influences. Any given set the band plays features a wide range of musical styles from all over the world and songs in many languages. The group occasionally features guest vocalists, but is most widely known for showcasing the larger-than-life voice of Lauderdale's former Harvard classmate, China Forbes.

An unabashed fan of The Sound of Music, Lauderdale jumped at the chance to work with the great-grandchildren of Captain Georg and Maria von Trapp: Sofi, Melanie, Amanda and August von Trapp. The result of that collaboration is Pink Martini's latest album, Dream a Little Dream.
