Mountain Stage
Dayna Kurtz.

Dayna Kurtz makes her third appearance on Mountain Stage, recorded live at the Culture Center Theater in Charleston, W.Va. A resident of New Orleans by way of New Jersey, Kurtz crafts a road-tested blend of American roots-rock, pop and R&B that's earned respect from some of music's biggest names, including Norah Jones, Bonnie Raitt and Elvis Costello.

In 2010, Kurtz released a tribute to the music of iconic West Virginia singer-songwriter Hazel Dickens. Then, beginning in 2012, she released her two Secret Canon collections, on which she covered lesser-known rhythm-and-blues gems from the 1940s through the 1960s. In 2015, she returned to what she loves best, recording her first new album of original material in five years, Rise And Fall.

For her Mountain Stage set, Kurtz sings and plays acoustic guitar, backed by Robert Mache on lead guitar and mandolin.
