The Alison Brown Quartet appears on Mountain Stage, recorded live on the campus of West Virginia University in Morgantown. Brown has been appearing on Mountain Stage for more than 15 years, dating back to her first visit playing banjo alongside Alison Krauss. Since then, Brown has established herself as not only one of the best-loved banjo players in the world, but also one of the most important figures in roots music. A former investment banker with degrees from Harvard and UCLA, Brown co-founded the internationally recognized Compass Records Group.

Brown has recorded 10 well-received albums of her own and received a Grammy and four nominations, as well as the Banjo Player Of The Year award from the International Bluegrass Music Association. Her latest record is titled The Company You Keep.
