On a Sunday night in August last year, Drive-By Truckers took the Woods Stage at Pickathon and gave the crowd a good old fashioned, sweat-drenched rock and roll show with three interchangeable lead guitars, a Hammond organ and a jackhammer rhythm section. And just when everyone thought things couldn't get any hotter, the Athens, Georgia rock band turned the thermostat up a few more degrees with this kinetic performance of "Ramon Casiano." This song features guitarist Mike Cooley on vocals and comes from group's critically acclaimed 2016 release, "American Band."
Every month this year, opbmusic and NPR Music have presented songs recorded live at the Pickathon Woods Stage. These videos were hand-picked by opbmusic to showcase some of the festival's most exciting performances. Look for the final premiere in late June.
Pickathon turns 20 years old this year and returns Aug. 3 - 5 to Happy Valley, Oregon, with a lineup that features newly announced additions Shovels & Rope, I'm With Her, Sheer Mag, Wild Child, Frazey Ford and Sunflower Bean.
