Support WESA's Arts, Science And Government Reporting

Renee Rosensteel

WESA is about to go into its new fiscal year and several generous WESA Leadership Circle members are encouraging you to invest in local reporting that is meaningful to you. They will do that by matching your contribution dollar-for-dollar.

This is a quiet campaign. We won't be interrupting our programming to ask for your support; we'll just make some short announcements on-air reminding you about these opportunities to invest in quality local journalism. Here are some details:

  • Jack Kerr is matching contributions in support of WESA's Arts and Culture coverage on Thursday, June 20.
  • Sandra Wilkinson is matching contributions in support of WESA's Government and Accountability reporting on Tuesday, June 25.
  • A group of Leadership Circle members will match contributions in support of WESA's Science, Tech, and Health coverage on Thursday, June 27.

Local reporting is expensive, which is why newspapers are cutting back on reporting staff and circulation. WESA is committed to ensuring that Pittsburgh stories of importance are uncovered, thoroughly reported, and available for free to all.
We need listener contributions to do this work in our coming fiscal year. I'm asking that you give in support of the reporting that is particularly meaningful to you. Maybe that's Bill O'Driscoll's exceptional coverage of the city's arts and cultural scene. Perhaps you value how Chris Potter and the Government Accountability team provide important insights about the activities of your elected officials. Or, maybe you appreciate how reporting from Sarah Boden and Kathleen Davis helps keep you up to date on science, tech, and health in Pittsburgh. Whichever you choose, your gift will have twice the impact because it will be matched.

Thank you for your consideration.
