Keep your kids physically active with We Can! Day at the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh. Presented as part of the We Can! Series and sponsored by the UPMC Health Plan, the event runs throughout Saturday and features a variety of activities designed to encourage healthy play. Events include mud activities, a hula hoop dance party, and a capoeira dance fighting training session. Join UPMC in promoting children’s health from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Children’s Museum on the North Shore.

The Pillow Project’s hyper-modernist ballet The Green Swan premieres this weekend. An enchanted woman is put under the spell of what seems to be a quintessential idea of beauty, leaving her inhumanly artificial by day and in her organically true form at night. Playing with themes of ugliness, beauty, and artificiality, The Green Swan runs in a limited engagement this weekend only. Catch the show this Saturday or Sunday at 10 p.m. at The Space Upstairs in Pittsburgh’s East End.

The Pittsburgh Society of Artists presents the 3rd annualARTday. Created to give tribute to and offer appreciation for the diverse talents of the PSA artist members and their works, ARTday includes hands-on demonstrations and art exhibitions of PSA artists. The group’s musical members will also be sharing their performing talents. The celebrations will extend from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. this Saturday on the 2nd floor of the Mine Factory in Point Breeze.

A new series of paintings, “The Way and the Wayfarers” by Joshua Hogan, opens this week at the Box Heart Gallery. Inspired by the poetic essay On Crime and Punishment by KhalilGibran, Hogan’s series aims to reveal the depth of interpersonal influence and illuminate how success is dependent on others. Join the artist for a public reception this Saturday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., or you can catch his series throughout the month of July at the Box Heart Gallery in Bloomfield.

The first of three monthly block parties in Shadyside, the Jam on Walnut concert series will begin this Saturday. Benefitting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Walnut Street will shut down for a night of fun, food, and drinks with some of Pittsburgh’s most talented musicians. This Saturday features performances by Kelsey Friday and Dancing Queen. Walnut Street in Shadyside closes down this Saturday at 6:00 p.m. with the concerts running from 7:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.
