The snow has finally melted and the temperatures have risen (albeit a little). So now it's time to brace the outside and find some good food and brews! WESA Digital Editor Sarah Kovash hosts this week, with Yelp Pittsburgh's Rachel Carlson.
If you like drinking and learning, this Thursday night, head over to the Heinz History Center for Tipsy History. Sip on Wigle Whiskey and check out the Glass: Shattering Notions exhibit, focusing on Pittsburgh's glass-making history.
And, speaking of Wigle Whiskey, head on over to their Strip District location Friday for the sweet corn bourbon release and cornbread throwdown! You can spend the night tasting bourbon and eating cornbread -- and even bring your own for Rick Sebak to judge.
Or, if you want to relish in the lack of snow, just head down the road on Penn Avenue to the Pittsburgh Public Market Sunday. Outside you'll find a food truck roundup with just about anything your heart desires. If it's too cold, you can always eat inside the market.
If you're more into the North Side scene, Saturday Imbibe Pittsburgh's happening at the Mattress Factory. You can spend the evening sampling local brews from some of the newest brewers and distillers, as well as old favorites, including Allegheny City Brewing, War Streets Brewers and Penn Brewery to name a few! Plus the Mattress Factory is worth checking out alone! Just tell Sarah, she still hasn't been ...
Oh, you like brews? Well you can also sample some at the Trax Farms Winter Beer Festival Saturday night. In addition to beers, there'll be live music and food. Just head on over to Finleyville and be sure to bundle up!
And we didn't forget about our vegan friends! The vegan-friendly chefs at Onion Maiden will have a three-day stint at The Vandal next week! Stop by for lunch or dinner, you'll never miss dairy, eggs or meat again!
