Bust A Deal, Face The Wheel: Social Club May 13

Happy National Bike Month! It is time to get off the couch and explore the great bike paths and trails Pittsburgh has to offer. Lucky for you, WESA’s Josh and Sarah and Yelp Pittsburgh’s Rachel are bike experts and are here to help you with your weekend-bicycle riding plans.

Pittsburgh is catering to our ever-changing bicycle needs. Go to Yelp, and you can find out every bike shop in the ‘burgh to get work done to your bike. Find your bike shop and stay loyal to them. They will treat your bike right.  Like Josh’s favorite, Thick Bikes.  As they say. “They are a bike shop. They sell bikes. They repair bikes. They are all about bikes.” Pretty much sums it up.

Looking for a great bike rental? Golden Triangle Bike Rentals is one place you can check out. Take a bike tour, rent a bike, or even take a ride on the Great Allegheny passage!

As for bike events, Pittsburgh has a lot going on.

This Friday, Hotel Monaco and Healthy Ride PGH are celebrating National Bike Month by hosting Cycle Check Ups from 7 am – 6pm. Get a free bike tune up (with donation) and try some yummy food from Commoner Corner’s new menu while you wait!

OpenStreetsPGHis happening Sunday, May 29 all around Pittsburgh. City streets will be open for biking, running, skating, shopping and more car-free fun!

Le Tour de Sandwichis Saturday May 21st, starting at 2pm. Tour restaurants participating in Northside Sandwich Week and of course, eat some along the way. You will be bicycling, so you are totally allowed to consume tons of sandwiches. It cancels each other out. It’s fact. It’s SCIENCE.

As for other non-related bike events:

The Third Annual Beers of the Burgh Festivalis this Saturday starting at 4pm. Try different ales, ciders and drinks, plus yummy food from your favorite food trucks, live music and more.

Last but not least is the Pittsburgh Vintage Mixer, which is taking place at Teamsters Local Union 249 in Lawrenceville. This two-day vintage fair will feature fashion, housewares, vinyl, artwork, books and more.

Happy bike riding!
