'For Father's Day, I Bought You Something Nice With Your Money': Social Club June 17

Happy Father's Day weekend to all the dads out there. We know you get "those manly urges and you gotta...fix things and, uh, cook outdoors," so WESA’s Josh and Sarah and Yelp Pittsburgh’s Rachel are here to fill you in on Pittsburgh's "manly" weekend activities.

Next 3 Days returns and kicks off this Friday at Grandview Park. This initiative highlights up-and-coming neighborhoods and features all the amazing things those towns have to offer. This year features Allentown and Mt. Washington.  This event goes on all weekend, so enjoy arts, cuisine, tours and more. Nothing is more "manly" than a nice stroll in the park, so go and visit Grandview Park. It's gorgeous and you can grill something. Just be sure to do it in the designated cooking areas.

The Urban Garden Party is at the Mattress Factory, this Friday. Mayor Bill Peduto will serve as Honorary Chair for the event.  Forty different restaurants, a bar and great entertainment will be on hand. Proceeds will benefit the Mattress Factory. "Light Up The Night" is the theme, so this is your chance to go all out.  We say, take those Christmas decorations that are currently collecting dust, and go nuts.

Freak Flea is this Saturday at Cattivo. Looking for that strange gift to get your quirky dad? This is the place to go. Look for clothing, books, movies and more. May we suggest Fight Club, Top Gun or Braveheart

What's more "manly" than drinking a good beer? Beer N’ Chew is this Saturday at the Monroeville Convention Center. Enjoy craft, regional and national beers, food tastings and more! Are you one of those people who will not go through the tunnels if your life depended on it? No fear. There is a shuttle that is leaving from Station Square and will take you to the event.

Big news! Yelp’s Swingin’ to Summer is Thursday, June 23rd at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall & Museum. Impress the ladies with your "manly" dance moves. Jump, jive and jitter at this free evening filled with 1940’s flair. There is a suggested donation of $10 at this event. Wear your red, white and blue and prepare for a great night celebrating all things retro.  The list of food, drink and entertainment options goes on and on, but you can see the full list here

Happy Father's Day everybody!
