We have all been there before. You are about to bob for apples when you start wondering how sanitary that water actually is. But you know what is even scarier than that water? Bad beer. WESA’s Josh and Sarah and Yelp Pittsburgh’s Rachel are here to let you know where you can get some good drinks this weekend and where you can bob for apples…if you dare!
The first place to get some good drinks is Craft Beers and Classic Carsat the Frick Art and Historical Center, Friday at 6pm. The grounds are beautiful and if you haven’t visited the park, you are really missing out. Check out the carriage museum’s collection of cars from the Frick collection while sipping on some yummy beverages. There will be six breweries in attendance along with food trucks and more during this fun event!
A Walkabout Apple Whiskey Weekend is at Wigle Whiskey, you guessed it, this weekend. They are releasing their Walkabout, a local apple cider proofed whiskey. This drink is GOOD! The release party starts this Friday with samples, apple bobbing (do you dare?), games and music. The festival continues throughout the weekend with more fall and apple activities!
This Saturday is the Night of 1,000 Elvises At The Warhol Musuem. Sip on some drinks as you celebrate all things Elvis. Need a little help embracing your inner Elvis? Pompadour stylings will be available. Combine that with swinging your hips and make the girls swoon and you should be good to go.
Still thirsty and hungry? Hometown-Homegrown is this Saturday at the Senator John Heinz History Center. This is basically a snack-a-thon. Enjoy this flavorful food expo with Isaly’s Chipped Chopped Ham, East End Food Coop and more.
