Sewickley Electric Vehicle Advocates (a group of volunteers working with Sustainable Sewickley) is holding an educational EV event at the Sewickley YMCA on Sept. 25th from 12-5, in the YMCA's upper parking lot, in conjunction with National Drive Electric Week. This event is for members of the public who are interested in learning about electric vehicles, electric vehicle charging and related issues. We'll have a number of private owners and their cars on hand to talk with folks about their experiences and a number of local dealerships represented with vehicles on hand for folks to test drive. Duquesne Light will there to talk about the company's pro-EV programs and we'll have video reviews of what's coming in EV's and video presentations on battery technology and related issues such as deep ocean mining (a controversial means of obtaining materials vital to electrification). Food will be available via the Mobile Brunchbox, LLC and ice cream by the Sewickley Confectionery. A number of local environmental organizations will also be on hand.
