Plum School Board To Release Teacher-Sex Report

Plum Borough School District

A western Pennsylvania school board is preparing to release a report on how administrators handled reports and rumors that teachers were having sex with students.

The Plum School board has moved its Tuesday night meeting to the junior high school to accommodate a larger-than-normal crowd.

Plum High School Principal Ryan Kociela and district Superintendent Timothy Glasspool have been on administrative leave since last school year. The school board has hired a law firm to investigate their response to reports about one teacher in particular in a district that saw that teacher, Joseph Ruggieri, and two others prosecuted.

Two teachers have been convicted of student-sex charges and a third is scheduled to plead guilty next month. A fourth teacher was acquitted of charges that he allegedly tried to intimidate a student victim by pointing her out in class.
