Allegheny Health Network is opening up its mass vaccination clinic in Monroeville to people in Phase 1C starting Friday.

Phase 1C includes essential workers in transportation, food service, construction, legal services, government workers, media, public safety, and public health.

AHN plans to vaccinate 13,000 patients with the one-shot Johnson and Johnson vaccine on Friday and Saturday.

Those eligible and interested in receiving the vaccine can visit AHN’s website or call 412-DOCTORS to schedule an appointment. AHN announced walk-ins will be accepted on Friday.

The AHN expansion to 1C comes a few days earlier than the state’s official opening to the group, which will be on Monday, April 12th. An AHN spokesperson said the health care organization had received permission from the state to expand to 1C due to the number of available appointments, which numbered in the thousands.
