Drivers could face slick conditions on their Monday morning commutes as snow and freezing rain moves across the state.

First there was the snow. Then it was biting cold. Now snow and freezing rain are moving across Pennsylvania.

The precipitation has started in the western part of the state and motorists around Pennsylvania could face slick driving conditions throughout Monday as the storm moves east.

PennDOT officials have reduced speed limits to 45 miles per hour on Interstates 79, 279, 376 and on Route 28.

Crews will be out treating roads, but officials said in a press release, "Although PennDOT crews have been treating roadways, the department’s primary goal is to keep roads passable, not completely free of ice and snow."

Some schools in the western part of the state have delayed opening or closed for the day.

Pittsburgh Public Schools has not announced any delays or closures.

Commuters in the eastern part of the state face a slippery ride home.
