Sarah Schneider
90.5 WESA

It’s time for a bonus episode! This spring, Land & Power was honored as “Best Podcast” with a regional Edward R. Murrow award from the Radio Television Digital News Association.

WESA’s Lucy Perkins sat down with development & transportation reporter Margaret J. Krauss and editor Liz Reid to talk about the process of creating Land & Power: what they learned, what surprised them and what stories remain to be told.

Lucy Perkins covers federal government and elections on the Government and Accountability team. Before joining the WESA newsroom, she was an NPR producer in Washington, D.C., working on news programs like All Things Considered and Weekend Edition. You can reach her at
Liz Reid oversees newsroom operations at WESA. She began working at WESA in 2013 as a general assignment reporter and weekend host. Since then, she’s worked as the Morning Edition producer, health & science reporter and as an editor. You can reach her at
Margaret J. Krauss is WESA's development and transportation reporter. She previously worked for Keystone Crossroads, a statewide reporting initiative that covers problems facing Pennsylvania's cities and possible solutions. Before joining Keystone Crossroads, Margaret produced a 48-part radio series about Pittsburgh's lesser-known history, biking 2,000 miles around the region to do so.
