New PA Supreme Court Justices Poised For Swearing In

Pennsylvania's three newly elected state Supreme Court justices will take their oaths of office next week in their home cities at opposite ends of the state.

The Administrative Office of Pennsylvania Courts announced the separate ceremonies Wednesday.

Chief Justice Thomas Saylor is to administer the oath to justices-elect Kevin Dougherty and David Wecht. Dougherty, a Philadelphia judge, will be sworn in Tuesday at the Constitution Center. Wecht, a Superior Court judge in Pittsburgh, will take his oath Thursday at the Duquesne University Union Ballroom.

Justice-elect Christine Donohue, also a Superior Court judge in Pittsburgh, will be sworn in Friday at the Duquesne Club by Justice Debra Todd.

The Pennsylvania Cable Network plans to record the ceremonies for later broadcast.
