Lt. Gov. John Fetterman is kicking off his statewide recreational marijuana listening tour Monday just a few miles from the state capital, at the Jewish Federation of Greater Harrisburg.
Fetterman, who was most recently mayor of the city of Braddock, has long been a vocal supporter of legal marijuana.
But Gov. Tom Wolf is another story.
Back when he was working to get medical marijuana legalized, Wolf assured skeptics the move wouldn’t lead to any further expansions.
He still maintains it might not.
But in the last few months, the governor has said he’s taking cues from other states as they move to legalize recreational marijuana, like New York and New Jersey.
The administration is pitching Fetterman’s listening tour as an extension of that position—just a way to see where Pennsylvanians are on the issue.
The lieutenant governor has said he plans to visit all 67 counties over the next three months or so.
