4 Spring Festivals Worth Traveling To

It’s officially spring, even if the weather may want to tell us otherwise. We’re going to remain optimistic and look forward to sunny and warm days spent outdoors.

This week travel contributor Elaine Labalme suggested spring festivals you might enjoy.

Annapolis Sailing School: Learn to sail with courses for beginners and more seasoned sailors. Basic courses teach skills like boat nomenclature, steering, finding wind direction and man-overboard situations.

The Inn at Perry Cabin: Spend a weekend at this manor located on the Eastern shore of Maryland. There are gardens, bicycling, fishing and sailing.

Festival of Houses and Gardens: The festival offers guests access into some of Charleston's finest private houses and gardens in the historic district. Additionally, there will be special events like a concert series, wine and spirit tasting and educational lectures.

The National Cherry Blossom Festival: Celebrate the arrival of spring (and the friendship between the United States and Japan) in Washington, D.C. with daily events like paddle boating, art shows, kite flying on the National Mall and a dance party. The peak time for the cherry blossoms is between April 8th and 12th, so make sure you plan your trip soon.
