Beware Of The Brain Freeze: Social Club July 8

I scream, you scream, Pittsburghers scream for ice cream. Summer is prime time for everybody’s favorite treat. WESA’s Sarah and Yelp Pittsburgh’s Rachel have taken on the daunting task of exploring, researching and taste-testing Pittsburgh’s favorite ice cream joints for your eating needs. It’s a tough job, but someone has to do it.

Let’s not waste any time and dive right in.

Actually we lied. First, you need to watch this video of cats getting brain freezes.

Did you watch it? Good. Let’s talk ice cream. Everybody has their favorite ice cream place and people are super passionate about it. Sarah and Rachel broke down a few of them for you. These are just a few of the best ice cream places in the burgh. Check out Yelp for more locations of  ice cream treats. Ok. Let's ditch that diet and get to eating.

Antney’s Ice Cream is a town favorite, with crazy unique flavors, including a shoe-fly pie flavor.

Remember When Ice Cream Shop is home to the largest ice cream cone in Pittsburgh. They also have a Christmas in July celebration, which is pretty much everything.

Page Dairy Mart is another hot spot to get a cool treat (see what we did there?) Tons of flavors, sundaes and dip cones are on hand.

Ice cream always gives you a good feeling, but want to feel extra good? Dream Cream Ice Creamhires folks that have a dream that they are working towards and helps fund it through ice cream sells. So you get to enjoy a delicious dessert while helping a good cause. So forget that diet. You need to go out and help America.

Klavon’s Ice Cream has flavored whipped creams to go with your ice cream.  Enjoy some nostalgia in this “blast from the past” joint.

Millie’s Homemade Ice Cream is the cool new place to get your ice cream. Exciting flavors like balsamic and lavender are available. Who knew that you needed flavors like that in your life? But you do. So go.

Milk Shake Factory has the most amazing decadent milk shakes ever, including a Wednesday happy hour for those down in the South Side.

Are you a college student or live in the Oakland area? Dave and Andy’sis a college staple. The students are gone so take advantage of the short lines, now!

Mercurios Pizza and Gelato Shop is where it is at to get this European favorite. Gelato is having a moment right now. Be a part of it.

Want some really wild and unique flavors of ice cream? Betsy’s is your place. They also do an ice cream CSA program where you can get a couple pints of ice cream delivered to your house. It’s $20 a month, so go ahead, go nuts.

Of course, there are a lot of exciting events going on in the ‘burgh this weekend.
