'Every Day Is A Good Day When You Paint,' Or So Says Bob Ross: Social Club June 3

Jun 3, 2016

The arts festival this weekend has us channeling our inner Bob Ross. WESA’s Josh and Sarah and Yelp Pittsburgh’s Rachel are here to fill you in on what you will be up to this weekend, with a little help from some famous Bob Ross quotes.

"It's so important to do something every day that will make you happy."

So true, Bob Ross. Something that is going to make you happy is The Dollar Bank Three Rivers Arts Festival , which kicks off this weekend. It is ten days of free music and art. Enjoy music from Lake Street Dive, Guster and more all for FREE. Did we mention it’s free?  There is an opening night party on the Gateway Clipper as well. You couldn’t ask for a more “Pittsburgh” event. Yummy eats are available too, including chicken sticks and lobster burgers. Go ahead. Do it. Regret nothing.

"I think each of us, sometime in our life, has wanted to paint a picture."

Yes, Bob Ross, but that doesn't mean everyone has the talent to do it. The artists at the arts festival on the other hand have talent galore. Greg Stones and Dave DiCello are two artists that will be at the arts festival. Both do fantastic work and you can purchase their work and TONS of other artists’ work at the festival. Support the arts and their talents!

"Talk to the tree, make friends with it."

Good idea, Bob Ross! You can also make friends at Microbrewers’ Fest 2016, which is at Penn Brewery this Saturday. You may not know this but they have an amazing outside deck that is worth checking out. Enjoy some delicious beers, music, food and more.

"This is a happy place; little squirrels live here and play."

Another happy place, Bob,  is the Best Restaurant Party, Monday at Heinz Field. Sample food from your favorite spots in the ‘burgh. A portion of ticket sales go to the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. Chow down all for a good cause!

Happy weekend everyone. Go outside and enjoy your fantastic city! Remember, "It's life. It's interesting. It's fun."
