President Barack Obama said Sunday he plans to pick a Supreme Court nominee following the death of Justice Antonin Scalia. Scalia died while on a hunting trip at a friend's luxury West Texas ranch late Saturday.
Senate Republicans vowed not to confirm any Obama nominee, which would leave the spot open for the next president of the U.S. to put forth a candidate. With Scalia, the court had four reliable conservative votes.
Scalia's body will lie in repose at the Supreme Court on Friday. A funeral will follow on Saturday.
