The whole gang is back together for this week’s Social Club. WESA’s Josh and Sarah are joined by Yelp Pittsburgh’s Rachel to discuss all the happenings in Pittsburgh.
This Friday at 6pm is After Dark, Carnegie Museum’s 21+ night. The theme is “The Birds and the Bees. ” Come on down and learn some dance moves from Pittsburgh’s own square dancing group, The Steel City Squares. Take a fun look at courtship rituals of the animal world and learn how ancient civilizations wooed potential partners. Go ahead, get an education. Just in time for Valentine’s Day.
21+ Night at the Carnegie Science Center is this Friday as well. Their theme is “Storm Fest.” Learn about the weather systems, make paper snowflakes (correction, LEARN how to make paper snowflakes, because if you are like us, yours always turned out a mess) and discover the effects of El Nino.
This Friday, Wigle Whiskey Barrelhouse hosts Mardi Gras at the Barrelhouse, at 6pm. Enjoy drinks, live music, absinthe tasting, and Pittsburgh Smokehouse BBQ!
I Made It! Mine, is this Saturday at the Waterfront from 12-5pm. Valentine’s Day is coming up, so check out this event and get your lover a creative gift. You’ll be able to purchase gifts and crafts from various vendors in the area. Millie’s Homemade Ice Cream is bringing a special Valentine’s Day themed treat. Yum! Beverly Birthday’swill also be on deck with a hot chocolate stand as well!
Sunday is theRec Room Winter Games and Super Bowl Party at Spirit in Lawrenceville. Participate or just watch some fun adult games. Be sure to stick around after and watch the Super Bowl. Or you can just enjoy some good drinks and food. Because let’s be honest, Pittsburgh, who cares about the Super Bowl this year? Are we right?
Then Sunday is over and its super depressing because that means all the fun is done and the week begins again. WRONG! The party does not end on Sunday because this week is Mardi Gras! Woop Woop! Fun beer fact: Bock, invented by Monks, was created to sustain the Monks through Lent.
