The inaugural non-90.5 WESA cool podcast comes from Pittsburgher, Zach Simons. Zach produces Writing on the Floor, self-described as "... a show dedicated exploring anyone who is doing anything interesting or creative in life. We want to showcase people who are worth talking to… people who are trying to make the world better on some way."
Zach has a regular-person job but he truly has a public radio soul. He works late at night in a closet for free and strikes me as a Cheetos guy. He scores interviews with creative and influential people in our city and gets them talking.
Recent guests include the Mayor, WQED's Deb Acklin, Tedx Grandview supernova, Kacey Wherley and Dr. Matt Lamanna, Paleontologist and Assistant Curator of Vertebrate Paleontology at The Carnegie Museum. See? I told you Zach was pub radio.
He also does a lot of amazing things with Arcade Comedy Theatre - recording their shows, doing his podcast from the stage. Check it out here.
