Final Votes May Be Close On Medical Marijuana Bill
Senate backers hope medical marijuana legislation in Pennsylvania will get to Gov. Tom Wolf's desk this week.
A Senate committee made changes to the bill Monday, and the bill's backers say they hope it can win passage in the House and Senate this week.
Senate officials say the changes to a bill that passed the House last month are largely technical in nature and designed to ensure there are no glitches in what could be a two-year rollout of the new industry.
The Senate already passed a similar version nearly a year ago.
The bill would let patients who suffer from a list of ailments obtain marijuana for therapeutic purposes. It sets standards for tracking plants, licensing growers, dispensaries and physicians.
Gov. Tom Wolf supports the bill.
