Will Congress Vote on Immigration Reform?

UPMC/University of Pittsburgh Schools of the Health Sciences

The White House released a video on  immigration reform  featuring staffers in an attempt to push their support for the issue.  It's hoped Congress will vote on the issue before before the July 4th holiday? Six years ago President Bush urged lawmakers on Capitol Hill to pass his proposed immigration reform. Instead the bill passed away.

President Obama wants Congress to move quickly on the sweeping reform bill the Senate began debating this week. When asked if we could see real immigration reform Dr. Patricia Documet, scientific director for the Center for Health Equity at the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Healthand says, “I hope so. It seems we’re closer because of the large Latino electorate.”
