Global Links Finds Success in Giving Medical Surplus to the Needy

Dedicated to supporting underprivileged medical facilities both in the region and overseas, Global Links works with hospitals in the greater Pittsburgh area to collect, refurbish and distribute medical supplies.

CEO and co-founder Kathleen Hower says while the company remains firmly rooted in Pittsburgh, they’ll continue to help those in need worldwide.

As a result of their success, Global Links reached maximum capacity at their Garfield location and will soon open a world headquarters in Green Tree. The site will offer quadruple the storage space and far more room for volunteers. Because of constraints at the previous location, Hower says, they had to start turning down volunteers and supplies. At the new headquarters, this will no longer be an issue.

“You don’t have to have a medical background to be of significant help to us,” she explains. Global Links currently reaches out to nine countries in our hemisphere, but Hower says they would like to help more of the struggling hospitals and staffers worldwide.

“We’re inspired everyday by the stories of the people we’ve been able to help.”
