Celebrating Hilarious Forgotten VHS Moments

With the rise of DVDs and BluRay, the American population disposed of their useless VHS tapes en masse, and dropped them off at Salvation Army and Goodwill thrift stores everywhere.

To Found Footage Festival curators Nick Prueher and Joe Pickett, the tapes are a comedic gold mine. They are providing people everywhere with videos and laughs that can’t be found anywhere else.

What began as pure boredom and an overly enthusiastic McDonald’s employee training video, developed into a unique and popular comedy tour. The pair entertain their audiences by playing films such as a woman whose enthusiasm for craft sponging borders on psychotic, and hysterical exercise video montages, all while providing running commentary.

The pair only have two rules: the videos must be found physically, not from the internet and they have to be unintentionally funny - whatever the filmmaker was trying to do, they have to fail at it, colossally.

The Pittsburgh Fount Footage Fest takes place at 9pm this Saturday, October 26th at the Regent Square Theatre and is a part of Brooklyn Brewery's weeklong MASH fest.
