Allegheny General & Northside Neighborhood Bonds
25 years ago an interesting partnership developed between North Side neighborhoods and the Allegheny General Hospital. That partnership continues today and has proved to be beneficial on both sides. Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reporter Diana Nelson Jones recently reported on this collaboration. She joins us to take a further look at how large institutions and neighborhood groups can work together to increase the quality of a community. We’ll also talk with Debra Caplan, Allegheny General Hospital Senior Vice President and Mark Fatla Esq. Director of the Northside Leadership Conference.

Own a Piece of PA History
This weekend citizens of the Commonwealth will get the opportunity to purchase a piece of Pennsylvania history. The PA Historical & Museum Commission will auction off items which include a Conestoga Wagon, prints and antique tools. Joining us to explain how museums clean their attics is Mary Jane Miller, collections manager for the Pennsylvania Historic and Museum Commission.

Storyteller
The success of the Harry Potter books proved adults and children can enjoy the same literature. Jonathan Auxier’s  lifelong love of children’s books has turned into a career as an author writing for readers ages 8-14. He joins us in Studio A for a conversation about the challenges and rewards of writing for the younger set.
