The ongoing plight of the August Wilson center continues with some bidders showing interest and others withdrawing. We'll get an update in the ongoing saga of the troubled arts center from City Paper reporter Rebecca Nuttall.

Dance Africa, Promoting Cultural Heritage Through Dance

Thirty-seven years ago choreographer Charles Davis founded Dance Africa in New York City. The festival of dance based in African cultures has since become the largest celebration of African Dance in the country. The festival is in Pittsburgh at the August Wilson Center for its third year, in collaboration with the Legacy Arts project, where Pittsburghers can learn the artistic traditions of the African Diaspora. Erin Perry, the Executive Director of the Legacy Arts Project joins us along with Dr. Davis to talk about the proliferation of African heritage through dance.

Ghost Signs of Pittsburgh

The ghost signs of Pittsburgh are a reminder of the city’s past. They can be found on buildings throughout the region. Our guests, Kelly Bogel and Will Zavala celebrate the palimpsests of Pittsburgh in an exhibit currently on display at the Pittsburgh Filmmakers gallery space.
