Hundreds of millions of gallons of stormwater flow into Pittsburgh’s sewer system during hard rains, which results in chronic flooding and sewage backups. A massive green infrastructure project slated for Four Mile Run could significantly reduce those problems, Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority officials said.

A director's decision to include a fictional gay couple in a local production of the play "Big Fish" -- roles that were not specifically LGBTQ in the script -- has led to the show's cancellation.

On Rosetta Street,  in Pittsburgh’s Garfield neighborhood, someone has posted signs that read, “Nobody wants to look at your garbage” and “Have some respect.” They’ve used all capital letters for emphasis. This block is a haven for illegal dumping.

The Port Authority of Allegheny County is seeking public input as it finalizes plans for Pittsburgh's long-awaited bus rapid transit system.

Riders can offer suggestions at upcoming neighborhood meetings about street design, station locations and what amenities they’d like to see at each station, like benches and Connect Card machines. They'll also offer general updates and allow for questions about the planning process, spokesman Adam Brandolph said.

Some called him a hero of high moral values. Others dubbed him a traitor. Either way, the infamous Simon Girty will soon be remembered with an historical marker in Greenfield.

The installation is the culmination of nearly 30 years of research on the part of his great-great-great-great-great nephew, 83-year-old Ken Girty, who as a child believed his ancestor to be a good-for-nothing "baby-killer."

He's since changed his mind.

Greenfield Bridgefest Helps A Neighborhood Say Goodbye

Greenfield Bridge is coming down and a party is being held to send it off in style. We’ll talk with City Councilman Corey O'Connor about how Greenfield Bridgefest will raise awareness of the local businesses impacted by the temporary loss of the bridge. And event co-chair Patrick Hassett joins us to explain how exactly they are “celebrating" when the event is held on Saturday.

There’s going to be a party in Greenfield this fall and yinz are all invited.

The Greenfield Community Association is hosting a Greenfield Bridge sendoff party Oct. 17, the day before it closes for a year-and-a-half replacement project.

City Councilman Corey O’Connor invites the city to show their support for the neighborhood by trying out nearby shops and restaurants.
