About 100,000 water customers in western Pennsylvania have been told that they no longer need to boil their water due to possible contamination.

Pennsylvania American Water said Wednesday that "acceptable test results" were obtained from samples collected Monday and Tuesday.

The company said the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection had authorized lifting of the advisory.
