Sons Of Bill's members make their first Mountain Stage appearance, recorded live at the Culture Center Theater in Charleston, W.Va. As its name suggests, the five-piece band is led by three brothers: James, Sam and Abe. Their love of music was inspired by their father, Bill Wilson, an associate professor of philosophical theology at the University of Virginia.
With no stereo in the Wilson household, the brothers learned music via hymns, murder ballads and songs about love, work and death. The band released its debut, A Far Cry From Freedom, in 2006 and sold 8,000 copies from the stage. In 2012, it issued Sirens, which hit Billboard's Top 200.
Sons Of Bill's new album, Love And Logic, was produced by Uncle Tupelo and Wilco veteran Ken Coomer. Seth Green joins the brothers on bass, along with drummer Todd Wellons.
