Mountain Stage
Ethan Johns.

Ethan Johns makes his first appearance on Mountain Stage, recorded live at the Culture Center Theater in Charleston, W.Va. A gifted singer-songwriter, Johns has made a name for himself as one of the most important producers in modern music, taking the helm on recordings by Paul McCartney, Kings Of Leon, Crowded House, Emmylou Harris and, perhaps most notably, Ryan Adams.

Beginning with Adams' Heartbreaker in 2000, and through three more albums, Johns helped set a standard for other modern folk and country recordings. But for Johns' second solo record, The Reckoning, the roles are reversed: Johns went to Adams' studio, laid down the songs solo and entrusted Adams with finishing the record. Johns appears here solo, singing and playing acoustic guitar.
