90.5 WESA Station News
In pursuit of our goals to inform, engage, and inspire the southwestern Pennsylvania community, 90.5 WESA has received numerous awards in recognition of excellence in broadcast journalism.



90.5 WESA reporter Margaret J. Krauss's report, Snagging Amazon HQ2 was recently recognized with an Edward R. Murrow Regional Award in the hard news category by the Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA). 

RTDNA has been honoring outstanding achievements in electronic journalism with the Murrow Awards since 1971. WESA competes in region 11 (New York,  New Jersey, Pennsylvania) in the large radio market category.  National winners will be announced in June.

In addition, it was recently announced that the Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters recognized  WESA's Sarah Schneider with its  Outstanding Radio Feature for 2017. WYEP's  Brian Siewiorek won the Judges' Merit Award.
