Nixon Resigns: A Tribute to the Songs of Phil Ochs

Nixon Resigns: A Tribute to the Songs of Phil Ochs
On the 49th anniversary of the resignation of President Richard M. Nixon, we will celebrate the life and songs of Phil Ochs. Performers include Alan Byrne, Sue Powers and Jeff Berman of Devilish Merry, Liz McBride, Professor Moses, Robert Andrew Wagner of The Little Wretches and more.
Phil Ochs, as you may know (or SHOULD know), is/was a legendary American folksinger known for his distinctive voice, sardonic wit, and political activism. He loved John Wayne movies and could play the songs of Merle Haggard, Buddy Holly, and Elvis Presley without a trace of irony.
Among the songs you can expect to hear are CHANGES, THERE BUT FOR FORTUNE, COPS OF THE WORLD, WHITE BOOTS MARCHING IN A YELLOW LAND, and WHEN I'M GONE.
In addition to Phil's songs, we'll include readings of transcripts of some of his on-stage monologues and passages from others who wrote about him.
Tickets are $15 at the door but only $10 in advance. Tickets can be purchased via PayPal to zioden1@aol.com.
