Corbett, Lawmakers Slam PA Hunting Agency

Gov. Tom Corbett and several high-ranking state lawmakers are demanding that members of the Pennsylvania Game Commission make changes or resign.

The letter they sent Tuesday to Pennsylvania Game Commission President Bob Schlemmer says the agency should rescind an agreement to pay $220,000 to its former executive director, Carl Roe.

It also says William Capouillez shouldn't be named to succeed Roe.

Capouillez has drawn scrutiny for work negotiating oil and gas leases for private landowners with companies he dealt with as a Game Commission employee. Capouillez has said he disclosed the business in state ethics filings and doesn't do private work on state time.

Schlemmer says the board plans to keep in place Matthew Hough, who's been performing executive director duties since Roe left in January.
