A man wanted in connection with a shooting incident near the White House last week has been arrested in Indiana County. Pennsylvania State troopers apprehended 21-year old Oscar Ramiro Ortega-Hernandez Wednesday afternoon at a hotel near Indiana, PA.
U.S. Park Police and the Secret Service investigated after hearing shots fired at 9:00 PM on Friday, several hundred yards from the White House. Authorities quickly found a vehicle on Constitution Avenue and, according to a statement from the Secret Service, evidence found in the vehicle led them to issue an arrest warrant for Ortega-Hernandez. Agents and police reportedly found a gun registered to Ortega-Hernandez in the car.
As part of the investigation, two bullets were found outside the White House. One hit a bullet-proof window. The other was found on White House grounds. Authorities have not conclusively connected the bullets to Friday night's shooting.
