Floating Points' "King Bromeliad" is one of our favorite electronic jams of the year.

Floating Points' latest release, "King Bromeliad," is thorny and sweet, like the pineapple on the track's cover art. It begins with a field recording: Someone enters a club where a drum kit is rattling the floor. The song then snaps into focus, the rhythm now front and center in the mix. Loose drums, spiraling synth work and syncopated chords strut over a bobbling bassline. The whole thing smacks of excellent taste. Originally posted on SoundCloud in March, "King Bromeliad" finally hit stores last week, which meant we could finally feature our favorite track of the year so far.
